Copyrights ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Introduction --------------- You could have seen this extra-terrestrial ships in the movie "Independence day". If you saw this movie, no extra comment is necessary. For the others, here is at least basic information: A giant space ship approached the Earth. After she parked on the Earth's orbit, a number of smaller ships were launched which started to descent to the Earth. Then these smaller ships - each measured 16 miles in diameter - hovered over the biggest cities on Earth. People didnīt feel anything wrong, until these cities were destroyed - therefore the ships are called "City Destroyer". People start to fight, but the "Destroyer" works also as a "mother ship" for small attackers, which will devastate most of Earth's air forces. The chance of survival seems minimal. Now the well known "Area 51" enters the picture. There people store one flying saucer, which crashed on Earth after WWII near Roswell and which comes to life now ... What do you think, how will the story end? I will not tell you, try to get this movie e.g. on videotape. For Sci-fi fans is it a must, for the others is it at leats good enjoyment with excellent special effects. 2. FS98 Installation: --------------------- Unzip files from this archive to your FS2000 "Scenery" folder. The folders structure should look then as follows: Fs2000 | - Scenery | - Id4_Destroyers | |-scenery |-texture Files *.BGL should be in the folder SCENERY Files *.*AF should be in the folder TEXTURE 3. How to activate your new scenery: ------------------------------------ [1] From menu select: World -> Scenery Library... -> Add area... ( if you don't see the menu, activate it by key ALT ) [2] In the dialog box "Select scenery directory" find folder with just installed scenery: ..\Fs2000\Scenery\Id4_Destroyers and doubleclick on it Fill "Scenery area title" , e.g. ID4 Destroyers Check on "Use this scenery directly" [3] OK [4] After database rebuilding I recommend to restart FS2000 4. How to fly around Destroyers: -------------------------------- Destroyers in this archive are above 4 areas. Every Destroyer has its own BGL file and all have common textures. New York ... file DestNY.bgl London ..... file DestLond.bgl Midway ..... soubor DestMid.bgl Prague ..... file DestPrag.bgl You can see the Destroyer over New York, if you select menu: Flights -> Select Flight ... and then select from the list "Kennedy Airport Architecture" You can try also another default flights in New York There are 2 airports within each Destroyer - on the top of destroyer's "tower roof" and a "beehive" inside the "tower" You can access them simply by following this procedure: [1] Menu: World -> Go to -> Airport... [2] Global region: select "Destroyers" [3] Country: select "Any" [4] Search result list: select desired airport: ID4LON_flattop ..... London, Destroyer's "tower roof" ID4LON_inside ...... London, Destroyer's "beehive" ID4NY_flattop ...... New York, Destroyer's "tower roof" ID4NY_inside ....... New York, Destroyer's "beehive" ID4Mid_flattop ..... Midway, Destroyer's "tower roof" ID4Mid_inside ...... Midway, Destroyer's "beehive" ID4PRG_flattop ..... Prague, Destroyer's "tower roof" ID4PRG_inside ...... Prague, Destroyer's "beehive" [5] OK 5. Known problems: ------------------ In the cockpit view and when you are close to the Destroyer you will see disappearance of Destroyer's polygons. ( this isn't a problem in FS98, CFS or CFS2 ) You can eliminate it only when you switch to the "spot view" and control your plane from this view. Especially when you are starting or landing on Destroyer's airports. In this case I recommend to switch off "Gradual transition" in the menu: Views -> Views Options.. If you encounter any display troubles, restart your FS2000. Or try to reinstall another add-on scenery in the same area. You can try also reorder scenery priority. 6.
